Daycare is great for dogs who love to play with other dogs! This can be used to help socialize your dog or just burn energy by playing. Your dog can play with my dogs, the other daycare dogs, or the boarding dogs that are also staying with us. All interactions are closely monitored to ensure each dog is comfortable and having a good time.
My daycare services differ from the traditional daycare facilities in a few ways. The first being the size of the play group. I keep play groups here at 5 dogs or less. In my opinion, the more dogs you put together, the more likely you are to have problems. The smaller groups are not only safer, but they are less overwhelming for your dog. He/ She just has a few dogs to meet and the play begins!
The other way my daycare differs is that I do not believe that dogs need to play and interact all day long. I do believe in breaks and quiet time. Even the most social dogs need time to decompress and rest between play sessions. Therefore, please note that your dog will have "nap time" for about one hour during his/her daycare stay if he/she is staying for a full day or extended day of daycare. Dogs staying for a half day will not have this rest time.
Lastly, daycare here does not mean playing with dogs the entire time. Not only do we take breaks and/or naps here, but I also put aside time to interact with each dog one-on-one. During this time, we may play an individualized game of fetch, tug, etc. or we may play other games such as scent games. We may even challenge our brains and learn a new trick! I try to tailor each day to fit the needs of the dog(s) in my care.
Daycare is offered from 7:00am- 8:00pm. Drop off and pick up times can be flexible to fit your schedule.
